My housemate and i were awakend two nights ago by what sounded like the toilet lid being lifted up and down (it's a small house, one bathroom just between us). Of course it wasn't, and we couldn't figure out what it was. We both went back to our rooms and about 10 minutes later it started again.

Checked it out again, couldn't find anything. Our dog was alert but didn't seem alarmed.  About an hour or two later in the morning we heard it again.

I guess you have a male ghost! Wish I could get my boyfriend to lift the lid.
