 Michael is considered to be one of the youngest practicing psychics in the world. He is one of the youngest psychics I have spoken with to date, but his spiritual maturity is immediately evident. I put him in my top psychics list, because that's the way this particular reading turned out. He is a medium as well, and he did also bring through my grandmother(s) briefly. Michael formatted his readings in a nice easy to follow flow. First he does a personality reading, then and intuitive medical scan, next future predictions, and after that if you have any guides or deceased relatives, he will bring their messages through as well. Lastly, Michael encourages you to have a list of questions for him at the end of the reading which he will gladly answer through his guides (or yours). Michael talks very fast. I could sense the reason he does this is because he is trying to get the huge amount of information he receives across. I remember being slightly embarrassed when he started on my personality. How could he have known the things he did. I felt naked. He knew how my past relationships ended; he seemed to understand the underlying cause of the images I created with regard to relationships. I couldn't wait for him to move on to the next portion of the reading. I really did not want to hear these things that were so true about me. In retrospect, it was my favorite portion of the reading. His words haunted me because what he said was so true. It forced me to look at these images, and begin to break them down so that they would no longer have any control over me. It was truly healing psychic reading. Michael told me that he saw a very stressful time ahead of me (April-May time frame) When I asked him if it had to do with my job (we had the possibility of losing our government contract) he said no, that it would be outside influences. He went on to tell me that it would be more than one thing. It would be a lot off little things happening all at once that would cause the majority of my stress. He said there was something to do with someone owing me money as well. What?! First he berates me about my horrible personality, and now he's telling me I am going to have a terrible next few months! Well, he did say that my summer would be "considerably more relaxed." I did have a terrible spring. I had two root canals, one of which became infected all the way into my jaw bone. I was in excruciating pain because it happened on a Friday, and I couldn't get to my dentist until that Monday. A few days later my German neighbors called the police on me (they said I was tearing their fence down). He had put up a new fence, and left the bolts sticking out 3-4 inches on my side, which would have cut my dogs when they were walking past. I simply finished the job, and hack sawed the ends off. It's a long story, but let's just say that German's can be a little uptight at times and I had to get a lawyer. The IRS kept sending me mail telling me they didn't receive my tax return. They owed me $20,000 from the previous year, and through April and May I tried to get this cleared up so I could get my check. They eventually found my return and sent my money in June. My schedule at work changed so that I was now working the mid shift. That's midnight to 8 in the morning. That was very stressful at first, although I like the shift now. By mid summer, I had my check, all my root canals were done, the legal battle with the Germans is cleared up, and I love my shift at work. Michael was pretty accurate about that stressful time. He said he saw me leaving Europe and moving to California. There he said I would meet a sandy blond haired "M" name and fall in love. Huh? That's exactly what psychic Jill Dahne said. I have two medical conditions, both of which he could see in my aura. He said "I see bones touching in the lower back / spine area." I do. I am a disabled veteran, and got out of the military because of two herniated disks in my lower back. The last CAT scan I had, the doctors told me that the disk was almost completely gone, and that the "bones were touching", which was causing most of the pain. It's almost as if he had his own cat scanner. He revealed exactly what the real CAT scan did and even diagnosed it word for word as my doctor did. Unbelievable. Next he said he saw allot of red over my stomach area. I have acid reflux, which is my other condition. I take Zantac daily (sometimes twice). I think the color red is an accurate description of how I have felt woken out of a dead sleep with this kind of heart burn. Next Michael moved on the the mediumistic portion of his reading. He said he got an immediate connection to a grandmother on my mother's side. She is with me quite a bit and is "working with me." What did that mean? He said her energy felt very motherly and loving. Then my great grandmother came through (if you didn't read my bio, she's the woman who did a hands on healing on me when I was a boy). He told me that she had healed much greater things than what she healed me of. It was as if she said this to answer the questions I had since my early childhood. How did Michael know this? I truly believe that he was connecting with their energy. The things they were telling him were all the important things going on in my life right now. All the messages were warm and gentle and addressed my "right now". He gave many accurate details about our relationships in life but I won’t go into them all here. Medium Channel Interview with Michael Mapes Psychic Medium Michael Mapes MM: The first time that I knew that I had psychic and mediumistic abilities was when I was 5 years old. I proudly announced it to my pre-school teacher much to her dismay. At the age of 12 I had a vision about a girl I had just met. I confronted the girl about what I had seen and she confirmed my information. At 14 I began having regular contact with spirits as well as my guides. All of my life I was able to access information that did not seem available to other people. Although I think most children have a high degree of psychic ability I was lucky enough to come from a supportive family. MC: Did your abilities develop naturally, or did you have to really work at it? MM: This is a gift that I was born with. It is a gift that I will have for the rest of my life, and also one that I am very proud of. So in some senses my abilities did develop naturally. That said, I believe in pushing myself to be specific and accurate, which does require work. For instance, my aunt was blessed with a wonderful voice and is a very naturally talented singer, but in order to keep her voice in shape she has to practice regularly. Psychic ability is similar. Although, I had a much more natural proclivity I also pushed myself very hard to be specific and accurate. When I was 19 I began to give readings on a more professional level. At this time I became determined to hone my gift as much as I possibly could. I read everything I could get my hands on about psychic ability, and began meditating regularly. Although I had a natural psychic gift the more I practiced the stronger my abilities became. MC: Do you recommend any books that are helpful in developing psychic abilities? MM: There are so many great books on the market today. I think the most important thing is to do what resonates with you. Not every program for psychic development is going to work for every person. If a particular exercise is not working for you, do not try to make it fit, simply find another exercise that you are more comfortable with. There are some people who find meditation immensely helpful, while other people may prefer more hands on exercises for developing their psychic ability. The most important thing to overcome is a sense of doubt. That is why I recommend that people incorporate daily affirmations into any psychic development program. There were two books that I found helpful. The first is called Opening to Channel and the second is called How to be a Happy Medium. These books, while not overly complicated, helped me immensely. MC: Can you describe in detail what it is like when you are having a vision about someone’s future, or explain how it is given to you by your guides? MM: I once had a psychic reading and the psychic told me that I was a “psychic freak.” This was the psychic’s way of telling me that I received my information in a variety of different ways. I see, feel, and hear information about a person’s life or deceased relative. It is then up to me to interpret whatever I see, feel, or hear. No pressure! Every reading is different for me. Some readings are more visual, others more feeling based, and still others more audio. Many times when I am in a session with a person I will see what looks like a movie in my head. Other times, words will simply roll across the screen of my mind. And still other times I may see or hear nothing, but simply have a feeling about something I need to communicate to the person. When I sit down for a reading I take about 5 seconds to collect myself and then the information starts pouring out of me. MC: Why are you doing this work? What motivates you? MM: I am doing this work because I have to. I was given a gift, and I believe that is my obligation to use that gift to help not only myself and the lives of my clients but also to help society. MC: How do you suggest that people prepare for a reading with you? MM: The only thing that I ask is that people keep an open mind. I do not ask that people try to make my information fit, and I take full responsibility if my information is not accurate. I also recommend that people have a pen and paper ready to take notes because I do tend to speak very quickly. It also helps to be able to look at the information that you have received in a session later, because many times I will predict things that will happen several months into the future. MC: Besides readings, do you do any other work in this area like radio, seminars etc? MM: I regularly appear on radio shows giving readings or talking about psychic and mediumistic abilities. I also provide lectures on everything from psychic fraud, to developing psychic abilities, to psychic children. I write articles about psychic ability, and work hard to educate people about mediumship. MC: Do you prefer doing phone readings or in-person readings, and why? MM: There are benefits and disadvantages to both. In a phone session I am unable to see the client’s facial expressions or reactions to my information. This is a benefit because it lets the client know for certain that there is no other way than psychically that I could have received the information. An in person session can be more useful if a person feels that a phone session is too impersonal. I do not have a strong preference either way as the accuracy is not affected whether or not I read a client in person or on the phone. MC: Do you have advice for “closet mediums” or people who may have similar gifts but do not understand what is happening to them? MM: The most important thing I would say to “closet mediums” is that there is nothing bad or dangerous about mediumship or psychic abilities. It is completely natural. It is also not happening to you because you have done something wrong. I do not believe that every person with psychic or mediumistic ability is meant to give psychic readings. I have been told of a few things, by some other supposed net psychics, that I hope for some clarification on. Can you help me, as one human being to another, with no up front financial gains. Just because its the right thing to do...?
