Ghost Whisperer - Mary Anne Winkowski
Written by Paolo
Tuesday, 22 July 2008

She cannot communicate with spirits who have crossed over, but she plainly sees ghosts (earth bound spirits). I wonder why that is? Does it have something to do with the chakras? Appaerantly they (ghosts and crossed over spirits) exist in completely different "frequencies". Below is an interview with author Mary Anne Winkowski about the book. She addresses the fact and fiction around ghost and even talks with one.

The whole "earth bound spirits" and "crossed over" terminology is for people who still cannot come to terms with the fact that "Heaven" is not a distinct physical place where you can go and never come back.

I understand these people because I was raised Catholic and I know those things are deeply ingrained and hard to let go of.

However as a medium I can tell you there is no such thing as being "crossed over" or "earth bound".

They are never "earth bound" and crossing over in reality is a very nuanced and complicated thing.

I have communicated with spirits that other mediums have supposedly declared to have "crossed over".

Personally I think it's a bunch of malarkey but I understand that most people who use these terms genuinely believe in them so I apologize if I offend.

The statement about everyone attending their funeral is also false in my experience, as I've communicated with spirits who didn't even realize they were dead and who certainly did not attend their funeral.

Not to mention, we don't all get funerals.

I just wanted to offer up the idea that perhaps different people see different things. There is mention that a "ghost" can't lie down with someone or that people stand at the foot of their caskets, well I've been seeing things since I was a kid and I recall my cousin sitting up in his casket, no white light around him, seeming confused. I've had various other types of happenings, such as talking to the dead and having premonitions, being guiding in dreams, and the like. I keep most of that info to myself, unless really prompted by the messenger to tell someone. I think it's safe for us all to keep in mind, that this is one woman's experience and perhaps we all have different experiences so that we can relate to them in our own way. As long as the message is getting across, I believe that is all they really want. And, for those that would love to have these kinds of experiences. Keep in mind, there is a lot of responsibility that comes with them and one of the best ways to communicate is to be childlike at heart. I believe that's the reason kids see so much. Once the world "jades" us, it's harder to look past that veil placed upon our heads. Easier when you remain childlike and full of love.
